Liwonde NP accommodation

Chinguni Hills Lodge in Liwonde National Park is not operating anymore. It has been closed in June and replace by “The Bushman Baobabs Lodge” a few kilometers outside the park. The owner is the same, the websites and mobile numbers remain the same as reported in your guide. The lodge offers different kinds of accommodations:from camping($5) to dorms ($15pp), to stilted tents with shared bathrooms ($20 pp) and big stilted tents with ensuite bathrooms ($?). They offer:
game drives $20 pp
canoe trip (recommended!) $20 pp
boat trip $25
village walk $20
no game walk
The lodge is on the river Shire: we happened to see a group of elephants passing by and it is common to hear elephants and hippos around at night.

Stayed at Bushman’s Baobabs June 11-12, 2012. Had a GREAT time. 🙂 The food is really, really good. The lodging and meal prices are up $5 from what’s listed on their website. http://www.bushmansbaobabs.com – great website! Watched 51 elephants on our two self guided game drives. (You don’t need a 4×4, the road is quite good.)
